Edgar Morscher frequently emphasized the claim that, while formal logic need not necessarily be employed in philosophical inquiry, one’s thinking must consistently demonstrate the clarity and precision acquired through training in logical analysis; as a matter of course, he himself presupposed and fulfilled this standard in his writings and lectures. In this spirit, the twelve essays contained in this volume examine, from an analytical point of view, questions concerning logic, epistemology, and philosophy of science, as well as ontology, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of language.
