Thomas von Aquin

geboren 1224 (oder 1225) in Roccasecca (etwas nördlich von Montecassino gelegen, heute in der Provinz Frosinone). Er studierte in Montecassino und in Neapel, trat 1244 in den Dominikaner-Orden ein und setzte seine Studien in Paris und in Köln unter St. Albert dem Großen fort. Er lehrte in Paris, in Neapel und im Vatikan. Auf dem Weg zum Konzil von Lyon starb er 1274 in der Abtei Fossanova (südlich von Rom, heute Provinz Latina)

He studied in Montecassino and in Naples and entered the Dominican order in 1244, continued his studies in Paris and in Cologne under the direction of Sankt Albert the Great. He taught in Paris, Naples and at the Vatican. On his way to Lyon Council 1274, he died at Fossanova Abbey (today province of latina, south of Rome)
