This work, completed in 1437, the year of the author’s death, represents a theological and philosophical summary in which religious truths are proven by foregoing authorized proof and purely with natural and reasonable grounds of knowledge. This work was admired by the author’s contemporaries but also attacked to the same degree. Among his later contemporaries Pascal and Montaigne, who translated this work into French, were influenced by him.
