Wolfgang H. Schrader: Empirisches und absolutes Ich

This work studies Fichte‘s theory of subjectivity from its beginnings in the ›Kritik der Offenbarung‹ (Critique of All Revelation) up to its description in the 1804 ›Wissenschaftslehre‹ (Doctrine of Science). The terms »empirical« and »absolute ego« and the problem of conveying them are discussed in relation to the concept of »life.« In doing so, the author succeeds in showing the connection between the individual versions of Fichte‘s ›Wissenschaftslehre‹.
