Born 1960 in Remseck-Neckarrems (Germany); studied mathematics, physics, and philosophy at the University of Stuttgart; 1991 doctoral dissertation on »The Problem of Theoretical Terms - a Critique of the Structuralist Theory of Science«; since 1993 Studienrat at the Brandenburg University of Technology at Cottbus; 1997 habilitation on »Normative Conflicts: On the Logic and Rationality of Ethical Argumentation«; since 1998 lecturer of philosophy at the BTU Cottbus.

Main research areas: Philosophy of science, natural philosophy, philosophy of technology, philosophy of mind, bioethics.
