From 1821 at the latest, Schelling worked intensively on his Philosophy of Mythology, on which he delivered his first lectures in Erlangen during the summer term of that year. The two volumes bring together his earliest work in the form of a postscript to his first Erlangen lecture and numerous drafts from his estate, as well as a postscript to his two-semester Munich lecture from the 1830s.
