Towards the end of his life, Rudolf Steiner especially addressed the members of the Anthroposophical Society in his lectures and writings. His primary concern was to prevent the dogmatic congealing of the intellectual and spiritual substance of the anthroposophy he had developed to date by unfolding what he had gained in ever new forms and thus seeking to make it accessible to lived meditative practice. The series of essays published in this volume, ›Three Steps of Anthroposophy‹, ›On the Life of the Soul‹ and the ›Letters to the Members‹, which have also become known as the ›Anthroposophical Guidelines‹, are an expression of these endeavours.
