The purpose of the ›Bibliothek 1800‹ (Library 1800) is to analyze and make specific subjects accessible once again. These are texts which provide contributions to key topics of classical German philosophy and of transcendental philosophy, contributions which are relevant for systematic philosophy and for the history of ideas. It is the intention of the series to close the existing gaps, especially in systematic philosophy and cultural studies, in the image of German idealism, which is still limited to a few protagonists only. In order to accomplish this, those texts pertinent to this subject which have not been published since the first edition or are out of print have been provided with systematically oriented introductions and are being made accessible to researchers, many of them for the first time.
