Dramaturgie des Unbewussten

This volume is concerned with the application of Judith Le Soldat’s theory to film art. After an introduction to the psychoanalytic discussion of cinema and film as well as Le Soltat’s Oedipal theories, exemplary analyses of films and scenes will be conducted: How do universals of Oedipal development manifest themselves in formal and content aspects of the film? How are intrapsychic power relations and conflicts depicted in the film and what attempts at offering solutions do we see? To what extent is film a suitable means of illustrating aspects of Oedipal theory? How are inner-psychic power relations and conflicts as well as attempts at resolution depicted in the film and by what means? To what extent is film a means of illustrating aspects of Oedipal theory?

The volume is intended for psychoanalysts, scholars of Cultural Studies scholars and for anyone interested in film art and psychoanalysis.
