This is a critical edition of prevoiusly unpublished texts from the collection of manuscripts of the German idealistic philosopher F. W. J. Schelling, deposited in the Archiv der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. – Between 1810 and 1820/21 Schelling was chiefly working on his never completed ›Weltalter‹-project from which he later derived the material for his lessons on The System of the ›Weltalter‹, the Philosophy of Mythology, and the Philosophy of Revelation. During this time Schelling amassed manuscripts amounting to more than two thousand pages in folio, part of which was destroyed near the end of World War II. From the remaining about one thousand pages this edition offers a choice of material which intends to throw light on a period of Schelling’s philosophical formation that till now is only insufficently documented by few texts. – The edition offers a critically established text based on the original manuscripts. The genesis of the texts is documented in an extensive textual apparatus. Added are remarks on the dating and explanatory notes.

Reviews
